Forty-seven Magazine Launches Announced in the Third Quarter of 2006, MPA Research Finds

New York, NY (October 18, 2006) -- Forty-seven magazine launches were announced in the third quarter of 2006, according to research conducted by Magazine Publishers of America (MPA). This is an increase of 34.3% over last year for the same time period. Among the new titles announced in the third quarter of 2006 were: 17 lifestyle titles, 14 magazines for the affluent sector, 13 magazines for men, 12 magazines for women, and nine new titles targeting African-Americans. Four MPA member publishers announced new titles, matching the same number of launch announcements by members for the same period last year. Publishers who announced launches in the third quarter include: Conde Nast: Vogue Living Meredith: JunkMarket Style Sherman’s Travel LLC: Sherman’s Travel Time Inc.: SI Edge Information about launch announcements is posted on the New and Noted section of the MPA website.
