Bitstream and Deutsch Technologies Collaborate to Offer High-Impact DirecType Image Personalization Softwa

Oct. 12, 2006-- Bitstream Inc., the leading provider of variable data and Web-to-print software for personalized marketing, and Deutsch Technologies GmbH (www.deutsch-technologies.de and www.directype.org), a leading provider of image personalization and other direct marketing technologies for digital printing, web and cell phone applications, announced today an alliance that provides users of Bitstream's Pageflex product line for variable publishing with integrated access to Deutsch Technologies' DirecType(R) 2.0 image personalization software. Bitstream will demonstrate the integrated solution in the Pageflex booth (#4846) at Graph Expo. The largest US printing and graphic communications exhibition this year, Graph Expo will take place October 15-18 at McCormick Place South in Chicago, IL. The integration of Pageflex and DirecType software enables print service providers and marketers to customize not only the text and images in a document, but also to incorporate personalized messaging directly in the content of an image. For example, a direct mail postcard for a local garden center can display the recipient's first name spelled out using a variety of flowers. For targeted marketing campaigns this attention grabbing approach can increase the notice and retention of a product message.
