Winning wrapping paper designs to benefit UMOM New Day Centers

PHOENIX, ARIZONA, September 22, 2006 - Winning sheets from a wrapping paper design contest sponsored by Southwest Graphics magazine are being packaged in gift wrap sets and sold to benefit the UMOM New Day Centers in Phoenix, Arizona. The contest began in August and 29 gift-wrap design submissions were received from entrants throughout the Southwest. The entries were narrowed down to nine designs by judges Lisa Brennan and Frani Garcia of Bazzill Basics Paper, Shirley Norris of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, and Emily Maurer and Nichole Churchill of UMOM New Day Centers. Their selections were placed on the Southwest Graphics Web site for all visitors to cast a vote. After tallying votes, four were declared winners. Southwest Graphics Wrapping Paper Design Contest Wrapping paper design winners included Kim Buchheit, Buchheit Creative Services, Grand Canyon, AZ; Julie Jones, Studio Street Graphics, Phoenix, AZ; Jen Saunders, Jen Saunders Design, Flagstaff, AZ; and John West, AAA Arizona, Phoenix, AZ. Winners will be featured in the November/December 2006 issue of Southwest Graphics magazine, and will receive 100 printed sheets of their custom wrap for personal use. Winning designs will be printed on 23" x 35" sheets and sold in packaged sets, one sheet each of the four designs, for $10.00 each. All proceeds will benefit the Phoenix-based UMOM New Day Centers, an organization that provides homeless and low-income families with food, shelter and tools to build a bridge to self-sufficiency.
