Day to Establish New Manufacturing and Development Center for Chemical Products Division

DAYTON, OHIO (15 September 2006) Day International, a global manufacturer and distributor of engineered consumable products used in offset, flexographic and digital printing, has announced plans to establish a new state-of-the-art technology, manufacturing and training center to support its Chemical Products Division serving the Americas. Over the next several months, the division will consolidate its current R&D and manufacturing operations and relocate them to the new facility in Batavia, Illinois. The consolidation will provide Varn customers enhanced innovation, responsiveness and efficiency. Jeff Pieper, Sr. Vice-President and General Manager of Day’s Chemical Products Division said, “Our new facility will provide a platform from which we can better support our customers; to help them to be more productive and profitable. It is a significant investment that underscores our commitment to create more customer value as customer needs evolve in a changing industry.” The new facility, identified as the Center for Technology and Operations Excellence is scheduled to be completed in early 2007.
