New Oce PRISMAweb Release Helps Customers Leverage e-Business Opportunities

BOCA RATON, Fla., Aug. 9 -- Oce, a global leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, announces Oce PRISMAweb(TM) 3.0, a new release that takes this established e-business software package to a new level with extensive functionality for web-based workflows. Oce also announces Oce PRISMAweb e-Manager, a new CRM fulfillment module. Oce PRISMAweb 3.0 provides greater functionality for every stage in the workflow: producing the price quote, Internet-based job submission, releasing jobs for printing, and billing. From smart, simple web portals to personalized setups with custom-designed workflows, Oce PRISMAweb 3.0 facilitates more communication and collaboration between providers and their clients at every level. Enterprises profit from faster end-to-end processing times and lower transaction costs. Web-to-print workflows let clients select print-ready documents from online catalogs and place orders over the web, or upload new print data to their own catalog. By standardizing workflows, Oce PRISMAweb also helps eliminate many of the usual flare points for errors. Users can preflight and preview jobs to check for errors while placing an order and eliminate potential problems well before the job goes into production. In partnership with Press-sense, a developer of business flow automation, PRISMAweb 3.0 ties customers into workflows over the Internet and raises the efficiency of job preparation and processing. As a result, enterprises can establish seamless cross-company workflows with their providers or clients for more convenient service and faster turnaround. Customers benefit from optimized print production workflows with the ability to upload PDFs, perform preflight checks, make soft proofs, and track their jobs after submission. Print service providers can create highly personalized online price quotes in less time, so sales staff can focus on closing deals and meeting customer needs. With extended variable-data printing options, Oce PRISMAweb 3.0 creates new revenue-generating opportunities for personalized marketing. The e- business solution automates inventory and order management along with all the associated administrative and technical processes. Used standalone or in combination with the Oce PRISMAproduction(TM) and Oce DocWorks output management systems, or optional PRISMA(TM) modules, modular Oce PRISMAweb has the flexibility to adapt and grow to meet users' needs. The software now supports a wider range of standards typically found in graphic design and personalization environments, so users gain more freedom and flexibility to work with their existing, familiar tools. The new version adds support for formats such as JDF, PPML and LDAP. Acrobat 7.0 Mac clients are supported, along with automated PDF conversion of more native Microsoft Office and Adobe application data. With Safari and FireFox browsers, customers working on Mac platforms can now also send their data. Providers using DirectSmile can make personalized image templates available to their online clients using Oce PRISMAweb. The new version of the software supports a variety of new typefaces and UI languages, including Chinese and Japanese. Oce PRISMAweb e-Manager is an optional customer relationship management tool with a powerful suite of functions to help enterprises manage contacts and orders more effectively. As a result, they can reduce operational expenses while increasing customer service. Oce PRISMAweb e-Manager handles order confirmations and invoices, creates client-specific cover sheets and correspondence, and helps businesses standardize and integrate order workflows into Oce PRISMAweb, whether orders come in by phone, fax, email or over the web. Print jobs requiring manual preprint editing are automatically filtered out of the job stream for separate attention. Users can "snapshot" the status of jobs and clients at any time via the program's dashboard. Oce PRISMAweb e- Manager also provides a wealth of process tracking and reporting functions, service and product lists, plus functions for cost estimates, including transportation costs. Oce PRISMAweb 3.0 is available now, while PRISMAweb e-Manager is available in the fall.
