Oce presents version 3.0 of its e-business solution

Press release from the issuing company

Creating fresh and exciting e-business opportunities for print service providers, the brand-new Océ PRISMAweb 3.0 takes this established software package into the next generation, adding extensive functionality for web-based workflows. From smart, simple web portals to personalised setups with custom-designed workflows, Océ PRISMAweb 3.0 facilitates communication and collaboration between providers and their clients at every level. For instance, the software now supports Acrobat 7.0, Mac clients, LDAP user management and DirectSmile-based image personalisation, plus automated PDF conversion of even more native Microsoft Office and Adobe application data. Océ is also announcing PRISMAweb e-Manager, a new CRM module with fulfilment functionality. Océ PRISMAweb 3.0 is available with immediate effect. Océ PRISMAweb 3.0 is a print e-business solution with integrated functionality for managing orders, processes and production, enabling enterprises to establish seamless, inter-company workflows with their providers or clients. Co-developed with PressSense, the solution ties customers into workflows over the Internet and raises the efficiency of job preparation and processing. Customers benefit from optimised print job production workflows with the ability to upload PDFs, perform preflight checks, make soft-proofs and track their jobs after submission. Print service providers can create highly personalised online price quotes for their clients. High speed, low cost, excellent security With extended variable-data printing options, Océ PRISMAweb 3.0 also creates new revenue-generating opportunities in the B2C – or business-to-consumer – segment. The e-business solution automates inventory and order management together with all the associated administrative and technical processes – inside and outside the company. Océ PRISMAweb 3.0 provides functions for every stage in the workflow: producing the price quote, Internet-based job submission, releasing the job for printing, and finally billing. Web-to-print workflows enable clients to pick print-ready documents from an online catalogue and place their order over the web, or upload new print data to their own catalogue. Users can preflight and preview jobs to check for errors while placing the order – and eliminate potential problems well before the job goes into production. Enterprises profit from faster end-to-end processing times and lower transaction costs. By speeding and standardising workflows, Océ PRISMAweb also helps eliminate many of the usual flare points for errors. Huge choice of formats The new version supports standards such as JDF, PPML and LDAP for key-account user management. With the Safari and FireFox browsers, customers working on Mac platforms can now also send their data. Océ PRISMAweb 3.0 takes care of automated PDF conversion of data from leading Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite applications. Providers using DirectSmile can make personalised image templates available to their online clients using PRISMAweb. The new version of the software supports a variety of new typefaces and UI languages, including Chinese and Japanese. Océ PRISMAweb e-Manager Océ PRISMAweb e-Manager is an optional customer relationship management tool for PRISMAweb solutions, offering a powerful suite of functions to help enterprises manage their contacts and orders more effectively. Océ PRISMAweb e-Manager manages order confirmations and invoices, creates client-specific cover sheets and correspondence, and helps businesses standardise and integrate order workflows into PRISMAweb – whether orders come in by phone, fax, email or over the web. Print jobs requiring manual preprint editing are automatically filtered out of the job stream for separate attention. Users profit from the simple, standardised approach to work and can snapshot the status of jobs and clients at any time via the program’s dashboard. Océ PRISMAweb e-Manager also provides a wealth of process tracking and reporting functions, service and product lists, plus functions for cost estimates – including transport costs. Océ PRISMAweb e-Manager will be released this autumn. Modularity for customised solutions Running both as a standalone solution and in combination with the Océ PRISMAproduction and Océ DocWorks output management systems, Océ PRISMAweb delivers the flexibility to adapt and grow over time. Enterprises can also add optional modules to match the software to their specific needs.
