Utah Paperbox hosts designers and art directors in a MAN Roland Seminar

Press release from the issuing company

Salt Lake City, Utah — Does the new generation of designers and art directors truly understand the power of print, particularly as it relates to packaging? Utah Paperbox (UPB) helped ensure that the answer will be “yes” among its prospects and customers by hosting a MAN Roland Printing for Creatives Seminar recently. The series, which consists of events hosted by MAN Roland press users throughout North America, features presentations by creative production experts and printing professionals that instruct the print buyers how to maximize the benefits of the medium. In the case of UPB, the star of the show was the packaging printer's new ROLAND 700. The press begins with a printing unit, followed by a perfector, an inline coating unit, and a double drying extension. Then six more printing units appear, followed by a second in-line coating unit and yet another double extension for drying. The unique configuration provides package designers with an unprecedented array of printing options and special effects — all in one speedy pass through the press. That saves UPB customers both time and money, while providing an array of attention grabbing techniques. A crowd of over 100 creatives and print buyers learned of the new press' capabilities at the seminar, which focused on such basics as color management and theory, how to spot the perfect dot, the creative use of advanced substrates and coatings, new approaches to proofing, and the advantages of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM). “We want our customers to have a clear understanding of how new printing technologies can help their packaging be more compelling and cost effective,” say Steve Keyser, UPB's Vice President of Sales. “This MAN Roland seminar is a great way to make sure they have that knowledge, while providing us with an opportunity to show how we can help put the theories into practice.” Yves Rogivue, CEO of MAN Roland Inc., says that the strategic objective of the Printing for Creatives Seminar Series is to increase the demand for print: “Designers, account executives and creative directors have a major influence over media selection. The more they know about print and the new creative opportunities it provides, the more they will use our medium. These seminars show them the power of print.” Additional information about MAN Roland's Printing for Creatives Seminar Series can be accessed at manroland.com.
