WebCRD's Streamlined Interface Sets the Web Submission Standard, Enhances Variable Data Capabilities

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, NY, 11 May, 2006 – Rochester Software Associates, Inc., a leading provider of digital document workflow solutions, today announced WebCRD version 6.0, which will be shown at On Demand in Philadelphia May 16-18. This major enhancement of WebCRD sports an updated ordering interface that dramatically simplifies the ordering process: fewer clicks, with all the right options displayed on a single ordering screen for the user to quickly and easily make job ticket selections. Intelligent Printing Options ensure that only the appropriate choices are displayed to the user – an 8-page job will not even show the user Perfect Binding as an option. Further enhancing users' productivity, Job Ticket Presets have been introduced, so that in one click all the print options are set for commonly used jobs (for example, a monthly newsletter prints on USLetter blue 24# paper two-sided with a portrait staple – just make one click, and all the options are set). Fewer clicks and page refreshes speeds ordering and enhances customer acceptance of the new workflow processes they are asked to use. Variable data workflows have also been enhanced in the latest WebCRD update. Variable data forms are designed applications of the user's choosing, and form fields are added to specify the variable data areas. Templates are made available to customers, who then can upload .csv files, interactively enter data, or access their WebCRD address book to create the desired results, which may be previewed on screen. Print-ready PDF files are sent to the Print Center, pre-ticketed and ready for output. “WebCRD has had a significant impact on our workflow and efficiency,” said Kirk Langer, Director or Technology Lincoln (NE) Public Schools. “Our primary objective is increasing student achievement through the use of technology that allows teachers to focus on the instructional process. WebCRD allows teachers to easily submit their documents for production, which translates to more time for preparation and planning. The updated ordering interface even further simplifies the process for our teachers, resulting in greater time savings and fewer submission errors.” WebCRD is a proven Portal to the Print Center, used for web-based job submission and ordering of print as well as non-print inventory items. Ideal for print centers and facilities management sites within colleges and universities and K-12 school districts, government offices, financial institutions, and corporations, WebCRD supports the entire digital print ordering and fulfillment process: order and reorder, file submission and archiving, print production and estimating, finished goods inventory management, order delivery, and internal cost accounting. Complete accounting and enterprise system integration is available with WebCRD. “The market has been struggling with end user acceptance of online print ordering systems,” noted Dave Vanable, WebCRD Business Development Director at RSA. “RSA has worked closely with our customers and future customers to understand the challenges not being solved by the current tools, and delivered an update that customers say makes the ordering and fulfillment process far easier than anything else they've seen. With the strengthening of our variable data capabilities, and industry-leading Production Management capabilities in WebCRD, the market is saying WebCRD meets their needs like no other offering”. WebCRD 6.0 is now available for order from leading printer vendors.
