Thursday, June 05, 2008

Press release from the issuing company

NORCROSS, GA (June 4, 2008) – Unisource Worldwide, Inc., one of the leading distributors of paper, packaging and facility supplies in North America, has announced the launch of its uDIGITAL line of coated printing paper products.  In June, the company will begin distribution of its enhanced line-up of digital coated and uncoated papers from warehouse locations across the U.S.

“With our new fully digital product line, we have created a value-priced brand to support the tremendous growth of print-on-demand capabilities,” said Allen Tate, Unisource Regional Segment Vice President – Paper.  “Commercial printers are making major investments in leading digital printing technologies, which will enable them to offer customization, personalization, and more cost effectiveness in short runs on color-print jobs for their customers.  We are rolling out our new uDIGITAL product line to provide printers a high-performance product at a great value for digital papers in this rapidly changing industry.”

Unisource will launch its new brand by introducing two products – uDIGITAL Gloss and uDIGITAL Velvet – that will be available throughout the U.S.   Digital printing is commonly used in the production of pamphlets, brochures, flyers, transpromo printing and customized direct mail pieces, and Unisource’s exclusive private label offerings are tailored to address their specific quality and characteristics needs.  Designed to exacting standards, both uDIGITAL Gloss and uDIGITAL Velvet are HP Indigo Certified for performance by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

“We have made a commitment to serve this growth segment of the industry, and we aim to deliver value to commercial printers by providing papers of the right size and the right quality, at the right price, for their digital printing needs,” said Tate.  “As printers are investing in the digital print workflow, Unisource will be providing them with a broad selection of paper products and strong, reliable support and service.”

Unisource supplies commercial printers and publishers and a broad range of industry segments with the leading brands of paper and imaging supplies. The company sells its own private label brands that offer quality at an affordable price. Its product lines are designed to meet customer needs across the full range of business paper for all communication applications. This includes books, catalogs, manuals, forms, brochures, booklets, letters, newsletters, flyers, reporting, advertising and direct mail.
