Denver Newspaper Agency selects Goss for large postpress installation

Press release from the issuing company

The Denver Newspaper Agency has selected Goss International for a major postpress installation at a new facility scheduled to open in 2007. Goss will supply three new packaging systems, reconfigure four existing systems, and provide auxiliary equipment, including components from Ferag, for production of The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News. The installation in Denver will include two new Goss Magnapak packaging systems, a new Goss NP642 packaging system, and seven Ferag UTR press gripper lines. All three of the new inserters will be equipped with Goss NP125 delivery gripper conveyors. The shaftless Goss Magnapak systems will each be configured to insert up to 39 inserts into a single jacket. "We are pleased to extend our relationship with the Denver Newspaper Agency,” explains Doug Gibson, Goss International vice president of sales. “This order reflects their confidence in our technology and our ability to manage a complex, multifaceted project.” Goss will also reconfigure four existing Goss NP632 inserters at the Denver News Agency, adding Goss NP125 delivery gripper conveyors and downstream controls and integrating the system with Burt supervisory controls. "This is the latest project showcasing our unique ability to combine complementary Goss and Ferag components within a single, integrated system,” Gibson adds. Goss International represents Ferag equipment in the North American market. The Denver Newspaper Agency publishes The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News under a joint operating agreement. The agency is jointly owned by MediaNews Group and the E.W. Scripps Company.
