Canon U.S.A. Acquires Salt Lake City-Based Uinta Business Systems, Inc.

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y.--Feb. 9, 2006-- Expanding its direct presence in the Western United States, Canon U.S.A., Inc. today announced the acquisition of Salt Lake City-based Uinta Business Systems, Inc., and its subsidiaries. As part of the agreement, Uinta Founder Joe Weis will remain as President and continue to have responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the organization. He will report directly to Ryoichi Bamba, executive vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc., who will serve as Chairman of Uinta Business Systems, Inc. "As one of the largest and oldest technology solutions resellers in the country, Uinta Business Systems has a tremendous reputation in the Western United States for providing quality Canon products, solutions and support," said Bamba. "Canon has had a long, successful partnership with Mr. Weis and his organization. We feel this new arrangement will help further grow their business in the region and allow them to remain a key player in the market for years to come."
