Miami Beach, FL (February 3, 2006) -- Furthering its expansion into Latin America, CGS Publishing Technologies International LLC, Minneapolis, Minnesota, world leader in color proofing and color managed workflow technology, has acquired the operations of its distributor Lasergraphix S.A. de C.V., Mexico City, Mexico, and has formed a new company, CGS Latinoamérica, to provide sales and technical support to direct customers and dealers throughout Central and South America. The entire staff of Lasergraphix will transfer to the new organization which will sell ORIS systems directly in Mexico City, while appointing new dealers for the rest of Mexico. Enrique de Leóon, formerly President of Lasergraphix will head the new company as Director General, with Luis Garza as Regional Manager. CGS Latinoamérica will directly support existing ORIS resellers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala and Peru, and will help establish new resellers in other countries in the region. "Major multinational customers require direct technical sales and service support from the manufacture regardless of their location," said Trevor Haworth, President and CEO of CGS Publishing Technologies International, LLC and Member of the Board of CGS Publishing Technologies International GmbH, Frankfurt, Germany. "CGS Latinoamérica provides that direct link to each plant throughout the region supported by local service providers where appropriate. The improved economic situation throughout the continent gives real momentum to CGS successes to date and provides the basis for strong growth into all market segments through local dealer partnerships." The launch of CGS Latinoamérica is being held at Graphics of the Americas in Miami Beach, Florida. The annual trade show has been a major venue for CGS' promotional efforts in the Latin American market. At the show, the company will also announce the next major release of its flagship product, ORIS Color Tuner (version 5.2), as well as its revolutionary display-based proofing and collaboration environment, ORIS Soft Proof.
