IO Integration Releases Io Partner Integration Module

Press release from the issuing company

San Francisco, CA, January 26, 2006 – IO Integration (IOI), a systems integrator focused on building workflow efficiencies for advertising agencies, commercial printers, pre-press providers and retail publishers, announces that it has released the IO Partner Integration Module. This plug-in provides users much easier and more robust interaction between both Kodak REALTIMEPROOF Partner and KODAK MATCHPRINT Virtual Partner, and Xinet WebNative and Xinet WebNative Portal. The REALTIMEPROOF solution is a suite of online proofing and remote approval management solutions for graphic arts professionals, who can softproof original files over the web regardless of file size or resolution. KODAK MATCHPRINT Virtual Proofing System is the best contract proofing solution for monitor color proofing in the marketplace today. A winner of the GATF Intertech award, this SWOP certified system dramatically reduces time from the print production workflow by giving instant proof approvals and immediate feedback that enable multiple proof iterations to be completed in hours rather than days or weeks. REALTIMEPROOF Partner is a scaleable image-streaming engine, which plugs the KODAK MATCHPRINT and REALTIMEPROOF fast image-streaming engines into any existing digital solution, such as digital asset management systems, job tracking or workflow management applications. Xinet WebNative is a server-based asset management and collaboration system allowing businesses to work smarter and faster by providing Internet access to images, documents and workflow tools. With a standard Web browser users can access, preview and re-purpose assets from any location, 24 hours a day. Xinet WebNative Portal is a powerful Web-hosting application that adds enhanced levels of security, customization, solution architecture and usage control to asset management Web access points powered by WebNative. To date, users could only launch REALTIMEPROOF Partner from Xinet WebNative via Xinet WebNative Portal without any way to tap the extended options of REALTIMEPROOF or KODAK MATCHPRINT. Other than viewing an image, no information about a user’s session could be kept. IOI has now made communications bidirectional so that any comments are captured and entered to WebNative as metadata. Thus, with IOI Partner, a number of features are now available: When an image is selected and a proofing session initiated, all comments and annotations are updated and stored as metadata in Xinet WebNative. Any authorized user of the Xinet WebNative database can access these notes at any time. An authorized user can approve or reject an image, and the information will be maintained. Comments and/or approvals can be synched manually or automatically by other users. Xinet WebNative now appears with both a complete hierarchical list of available images as well as a ‘lightbox’ of selected images. Before, a separate window with an image basket had to be manually opened. Clicking the REALTIMEPROOF option immediately commences a proofing session with either KODAK MATCHPRINT or REALTIMEPROOF, complete with ICC profiles (if desired). Approved or rejected images are indicated in the lightbox with customized icons (e.g., green or red outlines around the image box, ‘rejected’ or ‘approved’ type on top of the image, etc.) When changes are made, the history of the review session is generated and automatically sent to the workgroup within an email message, complete with a thumbnail preview of the asset, and notes of the latest changes, including who made the change, what was recommended, and comments — along with the previous history. Once an image has been approved, the image can be ‘locked’ so no more annotations can be made to the image, and the image is marked through the WebNative Portal lightbox to denote it is approved. Added to Xinet WebNative administration is a REALTIMEPROOF Partner administration page. The user-friendly web page allows the administrator to manage system properties, such as to assign a list of users who have security access to the system, assign approval responsibility and design the approval/reject icons. Administrators also have the power to remove someone from a session to allow someone else the opportunity to log in. “We have recently extended our software development capabilities to enhance products by developing specific modules and plug-ins,” remarks Eric Rewitzer, co-founder and President of IOI. “This is the first of many enhancements and plug-ins IO Integration intends to provide to customers to improve the utility of prepress applications such as Xinet FullPress, WebNative and WebNative Portal.” “The IO Partner Integration Module we created was client driven,” adds Rewitzer. “Until our solution, there was no way to access REALTIMEPROOF or the KODAK MATCHPRINT Virtual Proofing System from version 7.02 of WebNative Portal. Also, there was no means to conduct two-way communications between the applications. We worked closely with Kodak to ensure our customers could take advantage of the full feature set of both technologies. We hope to implement the same plug-ins to other soft-proofing applications as the year progresses.” The IO Partner Integration Module is currently available exclusively from IO Integration.
