Page/International Expands into Digital Commercial Printing with Xerox iGen3 110 Press

Press release from the issuing company

HOUSTON & ROCHESTER, N.Y.--Jan. 18, 2006-- Page/International Communications has added the first digital printing equipment to its commercial printing operations: a Xerox Corporation iGen3 110 Digital Production Press. It will use the digital press to complement its successful offset printing business, serve new customers, and help grow print volume and revenue for both ends of the business. The company is part of Nationwide Graphics/Premier Print - a printing network of 16 commercial printing companies across the United States. "The days of just being a printer are over - the iGen3 press allows us to be a full-service communications provider that can produce any job for our customers," said Jeff Glover, president of Page/International. "The key to success today is selling services and solutions to clients, not products." After researching several digital presses, the company purchased the Xerox iGen3 press for its image quality and ability to print larger sizes compared to competitive equipment. Page/International expects to produce a range of applications on the press, including postcards, newsletters, posters and personalized marketing campaigns. Glover expects that personalized work will account for nearly 50 percent of print volume on the iGen3 press within a year. Page/International currently serves a variety of customers and industries, and the company plans to use the iGen3 press to enter new markets, including healthcare and utilities. The company also expects to attract smaller companies that don't have the budget for large offset print runs but can now use Page/International for short-run digital jobs. The company has specific jobs in mind for the iGen3 press and is working with prospective clients to produce: * Direct-mail pieces for a large real estate title company. Using Page/International's proprietary Web-based fulfillment system, called "Argosy," each of the title company's 7,500 locations can customize holiday cards from four different templates, adding relevant information about the specific branch. * Desk and wall calendars for companies with multiple locations. With the iGen3 press, Page/International and its client can personalize the calendars and integrate relevant marketing information into a print piece that customers are likely to hold on to. According to Glover, the automation of the digital press and Web-to-print fulfillment system will increase efficiency and profitability for smaller print jobs. Glover said his company's partnership with Xerox was integral in the decision to purchase the iGen3 press. "We were very comfortable with Xerox, and having their support is critical to our success," he said. "Our partnership extends beyond the upfront sale and into training and ongoing business development support from the ProfitAccelerator(TM) resources." The company uses a Creo Inc. color server on the iGen3 press for a consistent and seamless workflow transferring files throughout the Nationwide Graphics/Premier Print network. Page/International provides full-service prepress, digital and offset printing, finishing, and fulfillment services. The Nationwide Graphics/Premier Print network employs more than 1,000 people across the country.
