MAN Roland to demo prepress, press, postpress & support advancements at Graphics Canada

Press release from the issuing company

Toronto, Ontario — MAN Roland is showcasing its ability to provide total production support to Canadian printers with a Graphics Canada exhibit (#3406) that will spotlight innovations in prepress, press, postpress and customer support. A two-up RYOBI press will be running new processless plates from Fuji. The continuous demonstration will mark the Canadian premiere of the prepress breakthrough, and will remind show goers that MAN Roland is the exclusive distributor and service provider for RYOBI presses in Canada. Two different folding systems will also be running at the MAN Roland exhibit and integrated into the workflow: an MBO T800 Perfection Folder and a Moll Marathon Gluer/Folder utilizing hot melt glue. Here again, MAN Roland is the official Canadian supplier of these systems. New Support Services Premiere A separate area of the exhibit will be devoted to new benefits in customer support. MAN Roland has taken the best service and parts organization in the graphic arts, added more expertise, more automation, more possibilities and more new technology. The result is printcom and printservices, two new programs that are making their Canadian debut at Graphics Canada. The integrated support offerings bundle all the benefits MAN Roland press users need to keep their pressrooms profitable now and in the future. Working together, printcom and printservices cover every operational contingency including: certified consumables, maintenance solutions, emergency response, upgrades, remote control repairs, and business-building enhancements. printcom establishes MAN Roland as a major player in the press consumables market. It features pressroom products that have been tested and certified by the development and engineering staffs of MAN Roland for optimum performance. The mission of the new printservices program is to promote press uptime. The innovation puts a worldwide team of technology, maintenance and trouble-shooting experts at the disposal of MAN Roland press users — 24/7. In fact, printservice’s remote diagnosis device — TelePresence — recently won the 2005 GATF/PIA InterTech Award. printservices also offers a growing range of upgrades, accessories, peripherals and options that MAN Roland can retrofit on its presses to help its customers be more responsive to the changing requirements of the marketplace and do more for less. The CIM Connection MAN Roland’s leadership role in bringing computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) to the graphic arts also will be highlighted at the exhibit. JDF integration to the company’s printnet PECOM system will be demonstrated together with Hiflex, a leading MIS provider to the graphic arts, along with prepress and postpress workflows. Printers equipped with MAN Roland presses and Hiflex systems recently dominated the 2005 CIPPA Awards conducted by the CIP4 organization. Graphics Canada is Canada’s largest print exposition. It takes place at Toronto’s International Centre, November 10-12.
