Gradual Software Announces the Availability of CaslonFlow 5.5

Press release from the issuing company

Ghent, August 24th, 2005 — Gradual Software, specialists in software solutions for automating the publishing process, will introduce Version 5.5 of CaslonFlow at Print 05, the largest printing trade show in North America scheduled for September 9th through 15th at McCormick Place, Chicago. Re-launched in May 2005, CaslonFlow is a powerful automation tool that glues together third-party applications and facilitates file transfer between remote sites, while providing an intuitive graphical representation of the workflow. At Print 05, Gradual will unveil the new enhancements, as well as announce new partnerships with third-party software vendors. CaslonFlow 5.5 will be on display at Gradual’s Print 05 exhibit in Booth 5219. Peter Camps, Gradual’s chairman and CEO, expressed excitement about the company’s inaugural trade show presence: “Presenting our team and its flagship product at Print 05 is yet another milestone in our history as a young and dynamic company. Nearly a year after the founding of Gradual Software, we can look back proudly on what we’ve accomplished. Our strategy is fully in place, customers are responding positively, and we’re progressing step by step toward our goal of building pathways between the islands of automation that exist in today’s graphic arts workflows. Our goal is to deliver something we believe the market desperately needs: affordable and expandable desktop solutions for production process improvement and publishing automation. We’re in the process of expanding our distribution channels in the US and Europe. I’m pleased to say that everything is going as planned.” Building partnerships Gradual Software is strengthening and extending partnerships with third-party software vendors to improve upon the production process and extend the product’s benefits to more users. Technology exchange, cooperative development and marketing collaboration are key elements in these partnerships. At Print 05, Gradual Software will be announcing several newly established partnerships with vendors of applications that can be configured using CaslonFlow. This will bring even more benefits to CaslonFlow users, and create bundling opportunities for the distribution channel. Additional details on CaslonFlow 5.5 will be announced when the exhibition opens on September 9th. CaslonFlow Highlights CaslonFlow is an automation tool that makes it easy for users to unify even the most complex systems and workflows and facilitates file transfer between remote sites. CaslonFlow is designed to benefit every participant in the publishing process, from concept to creation to execution to publication and distribution. Its overall goal is to extend the proven benefits of process automation to a broader audience, including content originators; content processors, such as editors and designers; professional publishers; brand owners; and service providers. CaslonFlow provides a comprehensive toolkit for connecting a series of applications via hot folders and scripts and moving files between them. It operates with all hot folder-based third-party applications and offers a range of built-in tools that can access and configure industry-standard applications, such Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop, as well as Enfocus Software’s PitStop Server, without the need to launch those applications. It features built-in tools to support file compression and decompression, uploading or downloading files from FTP servers, e-mail notification, load balancing and more. To facilitate implementation of a tailor-made framework, CaslonFlow also offers a “flow library” of ready-made workflows for CaslonFlow users. This flow library is designed to inspire new levels of productivity and to provide users with insight into some automation opportunities that have not previously been considered. “With CaslonFlow you can start small and build a complex system step by step, which is how people prefer to work,” says Camps. “It facilitates a gradual process that is easy to implement and offers virtually no disruption to existing production workflows. That was the genesis of the Gradual Software name.” CaslonFlow is priced at $2,499 (Euro 1,999). Its attractive price point positions it well for broad industry adoption.
