Neenah Wins Gold Award At The One Show

Press release from the issuing company

ALPHARETTA, Ga., (August 8, 2005) — “Punc’t: Putting Punctuation in its Place,” a set of 24 limited edition serigraphs, won a Gold Pencil award at the 2005 One Show in the Environmental Design: Campaign category. The poster campaign and supporting brochure were produced using ENVIRONMENT Papers from Neenah. “It is a wonderful concept, beautifully executed and targeted to raise both designers’ awareness as well as funding for a good cause, Books for Kids,” said Tom Wright, the Director of Advertising and Design for Neenah Paper, the fine paper manufacturer that sponsored and jointly hosted a reception and auction for the series with New York design firm And Partners. “We have been overwhelmed with the phenomenal interest in Punc’t. We’re extremely proud of the Gold Pencil award.” Spearheading the project was And Partners’ president and creative director, David Schimmel. He and 25 other graphic designers created the posters, which were auctioned off to benefit the Books For Kids Foundation, helping raise nearly $15,000. Just recently at the 2005 HOW Design Conference, the posters were exhibited for a raffle and an additional $10,000 was raised, including $5,000 from a matching donation by Neenah Paper. Books For Kids has provided children throughout the New York City region with more than 5 million books and built 41 libraries since 1986.
