Nipson: Enhanced Digital Printing Technologies Substantially Reduce Operation Costs

Press release from the issuing company

Elk Grove Village, IL (July 5, 2005) – Nipson, a leading provider of black and white digital printing systems, will exhibit its high-speed digital printing presses at Print ‘05/Converting ’05, September 9-15 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, booth #12049. The company will feature enhanced product technology including a new carbon drum and toner technology for improved overall print production quality. The proprietary drum and toner technology can be retrofitted to select Nipson presses and is designed to extend the press component life, and substantially reduce operation costs. The combination of new drum and toner in the Nipson printing engine result in smoother, more even grey scale images at high production speeds. This allows for excellent continuous halftone images suitable for print and book-on-demand applications. “Nipson is continually improving print quality and production speeds,” says Robert Stabler, president, Nipson America. “With the fastest productivity and the lowest cost digital black and white printer on the market, we offer the economics of high-volume productivity, reduced operation costs, and improved image quality.” The new technology will be featured in the Nipson VaryPress 200 running at (290 ft per minute), a speed increase of over 25%, and the VaryPress 400 (410 ft./min.), integrated with traditional finishing systems. Application demonstrations will showcase hybrid-printing solutions including variable data printing technology combined with traditional printing methods to achieve maximum productivity with unique halftone quality at excellent production speeds. Integrated Printing Solutions The VaryPress digital printing system has been quickly adopted by end-users in direct mail, security, transactional, label, print-on-demand and book on demand markets around the globe. Since the launch of the VaryPress 200 and 400 at drupa’04, Nipson has reported increased sales worldwide and anticipates an additional increase by the end of the year. Publishing, print-on-demand, direct mail, transactional, financial, and security printing applications all provide unique opportunities for printing variable data on a wide range of substrates with Nipson digital presses. The VaryPress 200 is ideal for data-driven variable documents with high-print quality demand. The VaryPress 400 is a digital workhorse designed for applications requiring large volumes of variable data produced in conjunction with other pressroom and finishing equipment. “Increasing printing volumes and streamlining operations can be achieved by integrating digital printing directly inline with traditional high-speed flexographic and offset presses for a complete roll-to-roll solution,” says Stabler. “The versatility, reliability, and flexibility of the VaryPress provide unique benefits for printers to cost-effectively add value to their product offering and grow their customer base.” Nipson digital printing presses feature unique cold flash toner fusing, an extremely flexible non-heating technology that enables variable data printing in high volumes on practically any substrate. Nipson’s entire line of printers features 600 dpi output, providing excellent print quality with seamless grayscales, high quality photographs, and fine line drawings. “Printers are increasingly demanding personalized documents on a greater range of substrates, with more complex finishing requirements,” says Stabler, “Nipson is an ideal partner for efficiently integrating variable data into any commercial, package printing, or converting production operation.”
