Vertis Teams with RIT's Printing Industry Center

June 3, 2005 -- The Printing Industry Center at Rochester Institute of Technology announces the addition of Vertis as an industry partner. Vertis joins 14 other companies and associations pledging support to the center's operation. Supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Printing Industry Center at RIT is dedicated to the growth and profitability of the printing field. The center addresses industry concerns through research initiatives and educational outreach programs. Vertis is the premier provider of targeted advertising, media and marketing services. Its products and services range from consumer research, audience targeting, creative services, and workflow management to targeted advertising inserts, direct mail, interactive marketing, packaging solutions and digital one-to-one marketing and fulfillment. "Vertis is a world leader in combining print with advanced multi-media technology to create more effective targeted marketing messages," says Frank Cost, associate dean of RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences and co-director of the Printing Industry Center. "Vertis will make major contributions to the center's research, particularly developing statistical techniques to measure the value of print media in today's complex multi-channel world." "At Vertis, we are proud of our innovative solutions and talented people," adds Don Roland, chairman and chief executive officer of Vertis. "Supporting the Printing Industry Center is one way we can ensure our industry continues to innovate and to attract future leaders." Industry partners pledge money to help fund the center's operations and advise RIT's researchers on topics critical to the printing industry. The center's other industry partners are Adobe Systems Inc., Baldwin Technology Company Inc., Creo Inc., RR Donnelley, Heidelberg, Hewlett-Packard Company, IBM Printing Systems, MeadWestvaco Corp., NexPress Solutions Inc., NPES, Standard Register, VIGC, Weyerhaeuser and Xerox Corp.
