Jay Kay Press Adds New 40-Inch Mitsubishi Diamond Sheetfed Press

Press release from the issuing company

DALLAS — Jay Kay Press, a leading Dallas-based commercial printer that specializes in high-end multicolor printing for medium-size to major corporations and design firms, has installed a Mitsubishi Diamond 3000S sheetfed press. The six-color, 40-inch press is equipped with an aqueous coater. The Diamond 3000S features short makeready times, predictable color consistency and high output to give printers a distinct competitive advantage in the 40-inch market. The press provides users with the flexibility to fulfill the gamut of commercial projects, including brochures, pamphlets, corporate reports and marketing materials. It is equally suited to the highest color-critical demands of ad agency, designer and specialty work. Customer demand and technological changes in the graphic arts industry continue to prompt Jay Kay to invest in new technologies. Over the past several years, Jay Kay has upgraded its production workflow to include the latest computer-to-plate technology and multicolor presses. The addition of the Diamond 3000S adds capacity and even greater capabilities to the 35-year-old printer, according to John Barry, president. "The quality we demand at Jay Kay will be easier to achieve with the Diamond 3000S," Barry said. "After careful investigation and testing, I am very pleased with our decision." Bob Emrick, Jay Kay's vice president of manufacturing, said the highly automated press will better enable the printer to meet the demands for faster, consistent production of high-quality print. "The anilox coating system opens a vast array of special techniques as well," Emrick added. "We have been producing award-winning pieces on older equipment, but the Mitsubishi press will make meeting our standards much easier." Mitsubishi offers Diamond Series sheetfed presses in 28-inch through 56-inch formats in configurations up to 12 colors. Fast job makeready, ease of operation and high throughput characterize the entire line of Diamond Series presses. Mitsubishi is a leader in the implementation of the Job Definition Format specification. Integrating Diamond Series presses into a JDF workflow enables printers to decrease waste, accelerate job changeover, add value to the finished product and improve competitiveness.
