Another stopover took Markus Rall to Twenty First Century Printers in Mumbai, one of the largest converter in India, producing on two six-color ROLAND 700 with coating and delivery extension. The first of them has been up and running since 2001; the second was put into operation last March. Another customer on Dr. Rall’s itinerary was Ajanta Offset & Packaging in New Delhi. The company produces high-quality books and calendars on four ROLAND 700 and two ROLAND 900. Buoyant market for printing presses
The market for printed products is booming in India. Pundits are predicting that the nation’s print shops will be seeking more orders from Western nations, entailing steadily rising levels of demand for high-quality printing presses. MAN Roland has made timely preparations for a period of increasing demand. “We’re a well-known and popular brand in India, with long-standing local representation,” emphasized Markus Rall. In 2007, the company set up its own marketing organization MAN Roland India Pvt. Ltd., headquartered in New Delhi. “Since then, we’ve already sold almost 30 printing units. For 2008, we’re anticipating more than 50 printing units“, revealed Rall. MAN Roland is planning to upgrade its local presence still further in the future. The printing press manufacturer is the leading player in the newspaper printing sector of this dynamically expanding and fiercely contested market, and aims to score more heavily in the sheetfed sector as well.
