Presstek's General Manager of On-Press Imaging Peter Bouchard said, "With the acquisition of The ABDick Company, Presstek significantly broadened its customer base. The ABDick open house is one of the first opportunities to demonstrate the benefits and new opportunities that a DI press can bring to the businesses of ABDick's large and loyal customer base." Scott MacKenzie, ABDick's Vice President of Marketing said, "ABDick offers a wide range of equipment, supplies, and service solutions that are tailored to the individual needs of the printers we serve." MacKenzie added, "DI presses are another digital solution in the broad portfolio of products that we can now offer our customers as they transition to environmentally responsible digital solutions." In addition to the DirectPress, open house attendees will also be able to see live demonstrations of the ABDick CXP 3000 direct-to-print system, a 50 page per minute digital color printing system using a S300 Fiery RIP from EFI. Also being demonstrated at the open houses are: The DPM Digital PlateMaster, a high-resolution plate and film setter that features a fully integrated PS3 Harlequin RIP and internal polyester plate processor; The ScanMaster System, which provides off-the-glass screening and descreening capabilities allowing the import of hard copy originals directly into a digital workflow; The four-color 4995A-ICS Offset press with semi-automatic plate loading and an automatic ink control system; and An array of color proofing solutions. Kodak Polychrome Graphics will also be demonstrating the KPG DirectPress 5634 DI at two upcoming industry trade shows. NEXPO 2005, scheduled for March 19th through the 22nd at the Dallas Convention Center is the world's largest annual newspaper exhibition and conference. The DirectPress 5634 DI will be on display in KPG's Booth #3113. At the On Demand Conference & Exposition, scheduled for May 17th to the 19th at the Philadelphia Convention Center, KPG will be showing the DirectPress 5634 DI in Booth #1948. Presstek's North American Marketing Director of DI Press Products, Stephen Sanker, said, "Digital printers are increasingly interested in adding offset printing to the mix to meet customer demands for higher quality in run lengths of 500 to 20,000, and to produce hybrid offset/digital work. The DirectPress 5634 DI is an ideal addition to the digital printer's equipment portfolio with its small footprint, chemistry-free operation and ease of use." The KPG DirectPress 5634 DI System combines Presstek's industry-leading ProFire Excel imaging quality with the simplicity and automation of a DI Press, including 300 lpi AM, FM (Stochastic) and hybrid screening and implements precisely the right balance of automation, quality, and price to address the needs of the small to mid-size commercial, quick and in-plant printer.
