Press release from the issuing company

Vancouver, BC, CANADA (February 17, 2005) – Creo Inc. is proud to announce a partnership with California Polytechnic State University’s Graphic Communication Department. Creo has placed an iQsmart3 scanner in the Graphic Communication Department for students in graphic design, graphic arts, and photography to develop their professional scanning, image capture, and color management skills. The scanner will also be used by graphic arts industry professionals at the Graphic Communication Institute. “We are thrilled to have our students and professionals using the Creo iQsmart3 scanner,” said Mike Blum, Graphic Communications Professor, California Polytechnic State University. “The iQsmart is a revolutionary technology for digital imaging—taking scanning to a totally control-led, new level of image quality. Our students never knew scanned images could look so good.” Students also use other Creo prepress systems including a Trendsetter thermal computer-to-plate (CTP) device, Preps imposition software, and the Darwin color variable information authoring tool in Graphic Communication courses. “We are enthusiastic to support California Polytechnic’s Graphic Communication Department and our future graphic arts professionals. We look forward to seeing the students’ contribution to our market as upcoming customers and partners,” said Ziv Argov, Creo director of marketing, scanning solutions. The iQsmart3 scanner is geared for professionals requiring high-quality results and maximum versatility. No other scanning solution in its price range can achieve its quality, consistency, and flexibility. Recognized as one of the premier graphic arts programs in the United States, California Polytechnic State University’s Graphic Communication Department prepares graduates for positions in printing, publishing, electronic imaging, packaging, and related professions.
