Myllykoski Realigns North America Corporate Operations

Press release from the issuing company

NORWALK, CT, January 7, 2005 – Robert A. Olah, President and Chief Executive Officer of Myllykoski North America, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Myllykoski Corporation of Finland, today announced a realignment of the company's North America corporate structure, moving the company's Madison International Sales Company operations to the corporate level where it will operate as an integral part of Myllykoski North America. The realignment is intended both to heighten awareness of Myllykoski's growing presence in the North America marketplace, and to focus on Myllykoski North America's depth of product offerings that include the full line of uncoated and coated groundwood publication papers manufactured by Myllykoski mills worldwide. David Knauer continues to head the company's sales operations moving into a new Myllykoski North America corporate post with broader executive responsibilities as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, reporting to Mr. Olah. Stressing the importance of the restructuring, Mr. Olah said, "The Myllykoski corporation has been a leader in the North American paper market for over 20 years, starting as a partner in the exciting re-birth of the Madison mill in Maine. Bringing our sales operation under our corporate banner gives us the opportunity to raise awareness of the Myllykoski name and to increase marketplace appreciation of the worldwide papermaking expertise and quality in every product that we provide. The move strengthens the Myllykoski presence in North America, and is an important step in positioning our company for future expansion and growth." Also continuing as sales executives under the new Myllykoski North America structure are Michael Ostrowski, Vice President, Sales; Craig Nelson, Vice President, National Accounts; and William Crane, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications. The sales operation remains headquartered in Myllykoski's Norwalk, Connecticut corporate office where the corporation's financial, human resources and marketing departments are also based. Myllykoski North America's regional sales offices continue their operations in Elk Grove Village, Illinois and in Montreal, Canada.
