November 24, 2004 -- The installation of a second VUTEK PressVu UV 180/600 EC has enabled Texas-based POP specialist, The Store Decor Company, to streamline production and offer more competitive pricing to customers. By utilizing its second VUTEk flatbed/rigid printer, Store Decor is now able to double its production without compromising image quality. Patti Ellis, Sales Director, The Store Decor Company comments, 'We installed our second VUTEk PressVu UV 180/600 EC in July 2004 - since then it has massively changed the way we do business. The PressVu UV's ability to print directly onto a range of substrates, enables us to significantly reduce time and money, and trade much more competitively.' The effectiveness of The Store Decor Company's quicker turnaround and more competitive pricing, has enabled it to take on new accounts in other lucrative markets, while continuing to provide the same high quality product and service to existing clients. A recent example includes a job produced using its new PressVu UV's eight-colors, to create visually exciting wallpaper and window graphics for two flagship McDonald's restaurants. Based in Dallas, Texas, and Birmingham, Alabama, the McDonald's restaurants now feature images of brightly colored cartoon characters on its walls and windows, printed directly onto vinyl coated commercial wallpaper, and a low-tac self-adhesive vinyl for the glass. Designed to appeal to a younger audience, the VUTEk printed graphics have proved to be a big hit with customers. Terry Frey, Sales Associate, The Store Decor Company, comments, 'We tried to produce the McDonald's graphics on two of our other machines, but the output was no where near as clean and crisp as the same job from our PressVu UV's. This really put the nail in the coffin for our other equipment, as they just couldn't compete with the versatility and consistent high quality of the VUTEk offerings. 'The vivid images and vibrant colors produced by the VUTEk printers, coupled with the benefits of faster production speed and improved cost efficiency, meant that the PressVu UV 180/600 was perfect for the McDonald's job.' The 37.7m² McDonald's wallpaper and forty 1.27 meters x 0.77 meters window graphics, were printed in only 16 hours. Terry continues, 'With the PressVu UV, were able to print directly onto the wallpaper substrate and then switch immediately to a self-adhesive vinyl without any delay to production - this type of flexibility is key to meeting deadlines, and in turn, the success of our business. 'By eradicating the need to transfer the graphics onto laminates and then mount them onto vinyl sheets, we saved considerable time and money. As a result, the client has retained our services for future projects.' Patti states, 'We installed our initial PressVu UV 180/600 EC in late 2003, as our research proved that it performed better than any other flatbed printer on the market. Since then, we have been so impressed with the PressVu UV, that when the time came to install an additional machine, the decision was easy.' Established in 1982, The Store Decor Company employs 125 people at its facility in Rowlett, Texas. Specializing in silkscreen, dimensional and vinyl letters, sculpting and indoor and outdoor signage, The Store Decor Company works closely with clients to develop visually stunning printed applications, designed to enhance a shopping experience. Working for a wide range of clients including Petsmart, Chili's, Lone Star Park Race Track, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and The Miami Children's Hospital and the Card and Party Factory in Dallas, Store Decor is fast becoming one of America's leading digital print houses. Patti concludes, 'Our second VUTEk PressVu UV 180/600 EC has enabled us to move into new markets, where we had been previously uncompetitive. By winning new, bigger accounts, the company is currently enjoying rapid growth, which will undoubtedly lead to further equipment investment. When the time comes, VUTEk will definitely be the first manufacturer we talk to.'
