Trend Offset Selects EFI Prograph Planning Software Integrated with Hagen
Press release from the issuing company
CHICAGO--Oct. 12, 2004-- EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, today announced that publication printer Trend Offset Printing has purchased EFI's Prograph publication planning software for integration with its EFI Hagen(TM) OA management information system. EFI Prograph offers powerful, comprehensive planning capabilities. These capabilities, now integrated with Hagen OA, will provide Trend Offset with superior operational intelligence, including "smart" estimating and planning in addition to production management tools -- tools designed to streamline production from order entry through distribution and improve profitability.
Trend Offset is a full service commercial and publication printing company headquartered in Los Alamitos, Calif., with divisions in Texas and Florida. Their clients include publishers of magazines, catalogs, retail inserts, newspapers, and telephone directories, as well as government agencies, so Trend Offset needed a robust planning application that could keep pace with their 24/7 operations.
"Prograph will help us compare manufacturing processes to available equipment and resources, giving us the ability to prepare for discrepancies or contingencies long before they occur," said John Bryant, CIO of Trend Offset. "The intuitive drag-and-drop functionality will allow us to easily create and update complex product specifications for jobs such as multi-version magazines and catalogs, which should greatly increase our efficiency. Prograph's enhanced tools that enable us to plan multifaceted shipping and distribution of finished products will also be big time-savers."
Trend utilizes Hagen OA for estimating, job costing, inventory and financial management. Prograph will enhance these capabilities, offering a solution fine-tuned to the needs of high-end commercial and publication printers.
Marc Olin, VP and General Manager, EFI Commercial Print Systems, said: "With the addition of Prograph, our Hagen customers now have a planning tool to make more knowledgeable, money-saving business decisions about their complex jobs. Prograph has been utilized by many of the largest publication printers in the world for the last ten years and we're pleased to have Trend Offset join the family."
The Hagen OA-Prograph integration will be on display for the first time in the EFI booth (#4613) at Graph Expo, taking place through October 13th at McCormick Place South in Chicago. EFI Prograph is also available as a stand-alone application for publication printers of all sizes. For more information, please call EFI at 1-800-875-7117.
