Vio Worldwide Demonstrates JDF Workflow At Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

October 10, 2004—Roseland, NJ—Vio Worldwide, one of the world’s leading suppliers of collaborative digital supply chain software and networking services for the graphic arts industry, announces its participation in the Interoperability Tour D at the Graph Expo JDF Pavilion, booth # 5087. Joined by EFI Hagen OA, DALiM Software and Global Graphics, Vio Worldwide will show Graph Expo attendees the simulated workflow between a magazine publisher, Careful Investors Monthly, and its printer, ROI Printers. Using certified delivery to link the publisher’s editorial workflow to the printer’s MIS and production systems, attendees will see automatic delivery of impositions to ROI’s remote plate-setting site. Tour D will take place daily during Graph Expo, and attendees can sign-up for any of the following demonstrations at www.cip4.org: Date and times for the Graph Expo JDF Pavilion Interoperability Tour D are: Sunday, October 10, 2004 – 11:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2004 – 10:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2004 – 1:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2004 – 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. “Vio Worldwide is one of the leading vendors behind JDF adoption, and we pleased to participate in the JDF Pavilion tours,” comments Alan Darling, Executive Vice President of Vio Inc. “These tours give attendees the opportunity to experience how standards can improve workflow operations and reduce production inefficiencies.” The Graph Expo JDF Pavilion will consist of 14 stations or “pods,” where attendees can see real-world scenarios that demonstrate the automated exchange of job instructions from one piece of equipment control software to another. The equipment and software instantly share critical information about the file and the entire print job, including quantity, specifications, cost, and delivery information. The transmission of metadata among unassociated pieces of equipment is just one aspect of JDF use that provides advantages to printing plants. In addition to the pavilion tours, Vio Worldwide is participating in the CIP4 booth tours and show floor Tour 1. The tour will show direct interoperability between the vendors exhibiting within the CIP4 Pavilion, and the show floor. Tour 1 will demonstrate how JDF and creative, front office, and customer exchange systems work together. Also at Graph Expo, Vio Worldwide will demonstrate its interoperability with vendors including, Agfa, Screen, Esko Graphics and Adobe. The company will also present integrated solutions for remote preflighting with Markzware (Vio Preflight and Deliver) and Enfocus (Vio Certified Delivery).
