Adobe Targets Print Service Provider Support With New ASN Program

Press release from the issuing company

SAN JOSE, Calif.--Oct. 11, 2004-- Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced new benefits to the Adobe Solutions Network (ASN) Print Service Provider Program, with the addition of technical "How-To" help and a new Premium Membership level that enables print businesses to output superior print jobs, operate at maximum efficiency and deliver outstanding customer service. The new Premium program builds on ASN's successful Basic and Authorized Membership levels, relied on by thousands of print service providers worldwide. Industry leaders including Anderson Lithograph, Ben Franklin Press Inc., Group360 Inc., Hederman Brothers, Publishers Press Inc., Quad/Graphics, Quebecor World, RR Donnelley and Seven Worldwide are already ASN members. "The Adobe Solutions Network program has been invaluable to us and our customers in helping us keep up with the advancements of our Adobe software," said Johnny Sutton, director, Technology/Customer Solutions for Quebecor World. "We receive automatic upgrades, valuable e-mail updates, monthly newsletters, and online information to help best support our customers. Being part of the ASN program also lets us make Adobe training personnel available to our customers so that they too can improve their knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software components." ASN Premium Membership comes at a time when Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe InDesign CS software are enabling leading publishers to transform and modernize print production and cross-media workflows. A growing eco-system of developers, systems integrators, print service providers and training partners are helping brand-name newspapers, magazines, retailers and advertising agencies worldwide build their businesses on Adobe's open standards-based publishing technology. "Service providers worldwide have discovered the extraordinary production power in Adobe InDesign CS for printing pages more reliably than ever," said Jim Heeger, senior vice president of Creative Professional Products at Adobe. "Extending our ASN offerings ensure that the print community -- essential partners for creative professionals everywhere -- are getting all the tools and help they need to deliver the world-class output on which their reputations depend." Basic Membership Print service providers who prefer a base-line level of support may sign up for the complimentary ASN Basic Membership level. Basic members receive monthly newsletters, a business listing in the online Adobe Partner Finder, and technical resources such as a Print Service Provider Toolkit CD, featuring in-depth printing guides on color management and transparency. The Basic Membership is free of charge and also includes Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) workflow documents, training and events information. Authorized Membership Print service providers may also choose the ASN Authorized Membership level, which includes all Basic Membership benefits, unlimited toll-free technical support calls to product specialists, complimentary Adobe Creative Suite software, priority shipping on upgrades and pre-release software when available. These benefits help Authorized members efficiently realize optimal results from advanced printing features in Creative Suite products, without paying a premium. Members at the Authorized Membership level are also granted permission to market themselves as Adobe Authorized Service Providers, eligible to participate in Adobe events, and have access to Adobe sales and merchandising tools. The Authorized Membership level is available for US$595 a year. Premium Membership ASN Premium Membership level provides the closest working relationship with Adobe, catering to service providers with high-end clientele and sophisticated workflows. In addition to the Basic Membership and Authorized Membership benefits, Premium Membership benefits include unlimited toll-free technical support calls to product and prepress specialists, eligibility for co-hosted seminars with Adobe, and on-site training and visibility into product development lifecycles. These benefits allow print service providers to articulate their specific needs to Adobe. The Premium Membership level is available for US$995 a year.
