Flint Ink Introduces ArrowStar Ink Systems in North America

Press release from the issuing company

Ann Arbor, Mich. (August 27, 2004) – Flint Ink announces the introduction of ArrowStar sheetfed ink systems to commercial and package printers in North America. Thousands of sheetfed offset printers around the world are already benefiting from the unique chemistries of ArrowStar ink systems. Now, North American printers have access to three formulations: ArrowStar 8030, ArrowStar Fast-Setting, and ArrowStar High-Strength inks. “The ArrowStar line has been delivering value to printers throughout the rest of the world for some time,” says Steve D’Angelo, vice president of marketing for Flint Ink’s global sheetfed business. “With the introduction of these three ArrowStar products, North American sheetfed printers have access to globally tested and proven inks that work on any sheetfed press in any pressroom.” ArrowStar inks are specially formulated to deliver excellent press stability on any sheetfed press. They offer superior ink-water balance and perform well at reduced water settings. In addition, ArrowStar inks exhibit enhanced rub resistance, improved ink transfer and gloss, minimum dot gain, exceptional color consistency and superior print quality for virtually any sheetfed offset printing application.  Flint Ink will feature the following ArrowStar formulations at Graph Expo 2004. • ArrowStar 8030 is a vegetable oil-based process ink set for use on any sheetfed press, with or without infrared heaters. Ideal for coated and uncoated paper and paperboard, ArrowStar 8030 offers a unique combination of good ‘through’ drying and excellent stay-open properties. • ArrowStar Fast Setting 3030 is a mineral oil-based ink for print jobs requiring extremely fast turnaround times. These fast-setting inks are suitable for coated and uncoated papers and paperboards, and also for foil stamping. Formulated for use on high-speed presses, the inks also offer excellent stay-open properties and immediate drying for fast work and turn on a range of substrates. • ArrowStar High Strength 4000 is a highly pigmented vegetable oil-based ink for print jobs requiring intense color or heavy coverage. Offering an extremely stable ink-water balance at all machine speeds, this series is suitable for folding carton, wide format graphics, direct mail, commercial printing, and labeling applications. All three ArrowStar formulations are currently offered to North American printers in a variety of containers including 5.5 lb/2.5 kg vacuum pack cans. “Printers are constantly looking for ways to increase production efficiencies without compromising print quality,” adds D’Angelo. “Flint Ink is now offering North American sheetfed printers three world-class formulations to meet the diverse, often diverging needs of their customers.“
