HUNT VALLEY, Md., July 27 -- The Sheridan Group, Inc. today announced plans to consolidate the operations of its Sheridan Books, Inc. subsidiary into a single facility. Sheridan Books, Inc. will retire a Cameron Belt Press located in the Fredericksburg, Virginia facility and move the remaining Virginia manufacturing operations to its facility in Chelsea, Michigan by September 30, 2004. In addition, the Company will expand the Chelsea, Michigan facility by 60,000 square feet during 2005. This additional space will be used to consolidate the customer service and warehouse operations, currently located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to the Chelsea facility. Both of the vacated buildings will be sold with the proceeds expected to offset the expansion and consolidation costs.
