Xitron Announces New Interface for the TrendSetters

Press release from the issuing company

Ann Arbor, Michigan, May 21, 2003  --Xitron, an independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, announced today new interfaces for the Creo and Heidelberg TrendSetter line of external drum, thermal platesetters. These interfaces are added to the extensive list of over 150 recorders Xitron supports with Xenith Extreme Adobe RIP, Raster Blaster and the Harlequin Navigator RIP. Xitron's interface drives both the 4-up and 8-up Trendsetters at full speed. Xenith Extreme is a prepress workflow system, which includes Adobe Extreme technology, Adobe's job tickets, Macintosh and Windows clients, Adobe in-RIP trapping, PDF workflow and archiving utilities.  Xitron's Raster Blaster facilitates output from any RIP or workflow system such as Agfa Apogee, Artwork System's Nexus as well as Xitron's Xenith Extreme. Xitron's Navigator 6.0 for Intel is based on the high-performance Global Graphics Harlequin core RIP. The Navigator RIP offers PDF support, optional In-RIP trapping, FirstProof and manages error handling, reporting and recovery feedback on the Trendsetter. "We've had many requests to drive the TrendSetter line of recorders. Users now have options for incorporating their TrendSetters into an open prepress workflow - with Xitron's Navigator and Xenith Extreme or virtually any another workflow connected with Raster Blaster," explains R. Patrick French, VP of Sales and Marketing for Xitron. "Xitron offers quality workflow RIPs, at affordable prices with excellent service and support through our dealers worldwide." Raster Blaster and the Xenith Extreme Trendsetter interfaces are expected to ship June 1, 2003 with the interface for Navigator for Intel following within 90-days.
