Oce OpenHouse 2003 presents custom-tailored applications

Press release from the issuing company

Poing, May 20, 2003 - Oce OpenHouse, Europe's largest digital printing event, is taking place this year for the 10th time. From May 20 to 24, the Océ facility in Poing, just outside Munich, will be staging its annual show with the slogan "The Enterprise Place". The 6000 m2 exhibition will be flanked by presentations and discussions to demonstrate digital printing solutions that can help enterprises of any size optimise their document workflows and manage documents more efficiently. Océ will also be unveiling its latest digital press at OpenHouse 2003, with the first public showing of the Océ VarioPrint 3090. Océ offers solutions that respond to the particular demands of different market segments, including the graphic arts industry, direct marketing, digital print providers, finance, telecommunication & utilities, public services & education and industry & trade. Focus days for market segments Océ is again hosting special "focus days", where Océ experts, customers and partners present solutions that address the demands of particular market segments. The "Public Services" focus day will highlight on-demand printing and just-in-time publication, and one of the sessions on "Industry and Trade" day will examine how innovative solutions can add value to supply chain management. Other keynote themes are Facility Services and Commercial Printers. On the Facility Services focus day, Océ is looking at the opportunities afforded by outsourcing to make document management more efficient. Commercial Printers day is an information and discussion forum for print service providers. This is the print-for-profit segment, and the key issues are how new applications can be turned to profit, and how added value can be created with new services. Océ VarioPrint 3090 The Océ VarioPrint 3090 takes data from sources such as Unix servers, mainframes or SAP systems and prints at a rate of 85 pages per minute. Designed for monthly print volumes of 150,000 to 500,000 pages, this high volume printer facilitates long, unattended print runs, which makes it ideal for billing and insurance applications. Last November Océ unveiled various models of the VarioPrint and VarioStream product families, and these digital presses will again be on show running a variety of applications—many in combination with Océ PRISMA, a suite of software tools for greater efficiency in document management.
