London Litho Experts Assist Garvey Group With CtP Conversion

Press release from the issuing company

Lincolnwood, Illinois, April 28 2003— London Litho—known throughout the Midwest for prepress and pressroom technical expertise—recently assisted The Garvey Group with a computer-to-plate conversion at Garvey subsidiary Tru Line Lithographing in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. Included in the solution was a Fuji Saber Vx9600 platesetter, a CGS O.R.I.S. digital proofing system, and Epson 10000 printers. In addition, the London Litho training and consulting team—The OPUS Group—delivered an intensive three-week training program designed to optimize the new technologies. Initial training was conducted at the London Litho New Berlin, Wisconsin, Training Center, and then moved to individual Garvey sites to provide practical application experience. Training included the Nexus workflow, color management and theory, ICC profiling, ProfileMaker, the O.R.I.S. Color Tuner, and operation of the Epson printers. The family-owned Garvey Group provides both web and sheetfed printing services throughout the upper Midwest via its six-location network of companies. In addition to Tru Line Lithographing, the Garvey Group network includes Ed Garvey & Company and SOS Business Forms in Niles, Illinois; United General Graphics in Kenosha, Wisconsin; Global Fulfillment Services in Oak Creek, Wisconsin; and C-Graphic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The recent London Litho CTP solution involved digital proofing and workflow upgrades at three separate Garvey locations. Discussing his company’s relationship with London Litho, Garvey Group President Edward J. Garvey, Jr. commented: “We see many competing devices and systems in the marketplace, most of which probably work just fine. But we have developed trust in London Litho and many of our recent decisions have been driven by that trust. Our growth, in large measure, has been a result of good advice.”
