Quad/Graphics Fundraiser Garners $50,000 For The Troops

Press release from the issuing company

April 21, 2003 -- Quad/Graphics employees opened their hearts and their wallets to support U.S. troops and their families during the war with Iraq. Specifically, employees donated $25,000, which the company matched, dollar for dollar, then forwarded to the Armed Forces Emergency Services branch of the American Red Cross. This branch funds a variety of initiatives that benefit both military personnel and their families, including facilitating communications between family members and military personnel in emergency situations, as well as helping members of our military return home in the event of a family emergency. Given that Quad/Graphics has employees all over the world, the company decided to funnel the money into a cause with an international presence and a sound reputation for helping those in need during times of crisis. "We liked the fact that through its Armed Forces Emergency Services, the Red Cross helps both military personnel and their families," said Quad/Graphics President and CEO Tom Quadracci. "Both need our unwavering support at this time." Quad/Graphics fundraiser, named Operation Support Our Troops, ended April 11 after a three-week donation period. Mr. Quadracci presented the $50,000 check to the Milwaukee chapter of the American Red Cross April 15.
