Testing, Research, Product Evaluation, and Consulting Now Available at Cal Poly

San Luis Obispo, CA - March 24, 2003 -- The Graphic Communication Institute (GrCI) at Cal Poly is now offering a full range of testing, research, product evaluation, and consulting services. The GrCI, founded in July 2001, has revamped and upgraded laboratories to provide practical services to the industry. Through a recently modernized Substrates, Ink, and Toner Lab, the Institute is equipped to perform a variety of paper, ink, and toner tests according to industry standards, as well as tests on the compatibility between ink, toner, and substrates. Press laboratories that include traditional and digital presses allow for on-press testing of paper, inks, toners, blankets, rollers, plates, fountain solutions, and related items. Institute consultants are also available for in-plant training, assessments of procedures, and troubleshooting in traditional printing and digital imaging. The GrCI is the research, testing, product evaluation, and industry education branch of Cal Poly's Graphic Communication Department. The Institute also offers a full range of seminars and workshops focused on meeting today's information needs of industry.
