Heidelberg to support new building for Ryerson University

Toronto, Ontario, February 12, 2003 – Heidelberg Canada has announced its support for Ryerson University's new building for the School of Graphic Communications Management. This gift will be a combination of Prepress, Direct Imaging, Sheetfed and Finishing equipment, services and funding to enhance the new training facilities over a 10-year period. "Heidelberg considers education in our industry a critical issue. Ryerson University requires state-of-the-art technology to ensure the students in this program are properly trained and become a key resource to future employers. These students are our industry's future, therefore we believe that our investment in Ryerson University is a very important one," states Richard M. Armstrong, President, Heidelberg Canada. In recognition of this leadership gift, Ryerson University granted Heidelberg Canada the opportunity to name the new 30,000 square foot building the "HEIDELBERG Centre - School of Graphic Communications Management." Additionally, the press lab in the school will also be recognized as the "Heidelberg Press Lab." "The Heidelberg Centre for the School of Graphic Communications Management will ensure the continued growth of the Canadian Graphic Arts Industry," states Professor Mary E. Black - Chair, School of Graphic Communications Management. "Naming the new building is an ongoing example of Heidelberg's strong commitment to this amazing industry. I am delighted!"
