R.R. Donnelley Names Presidents for Asia, Europe and Financial Business

CHICAGO, Feb. 11 -- R.R. Donnelley has named new leaders to implement its international growth strategy, expand its global leadership and reinforce its commitment to China. The company's international strategy includes reinforcing its commitment to emerging markets and focusing on growth and integrated business processes such as procurement, sales and business process redesign. This global connectivity leads to better efficiency, responsiveness and superior quality and service. Effective March 1, 2003, Jim Mauck, president of R.R. Donnelley Europe, will fill the newly created position of president, R.R. Donnelley Asia. Mauck will be responsible for operations, sales, marketing and administrative functions for China. He has 21 years of service with R.R. Donnelley and brings 10 years of solid performance in Europe, where he led the growth of the core print business and the development of new businesses. This appointment further illustrates R.R. Donnelley's commitment to working with its partners to help develop world-class printing and manufacturing capabilities in China. Mauck will oversee joint venture agreements with the Shanghai Press and Publications Administration and the Shenzhen Petrochemical Holding Co., Ltd. R.R. Donnelley is the first United States-based company since 1949 to receive a license to provide commercial print and print-related services in China. The company entered China in 1993. Effective April 1, 2003, Paul Masterton, president of R.R. Donnelley Financial, will become president of R.R. Donnelley Europe. Masterton, a London native, has 20 years of service with R.R. Donnelley in positions ranging from sales to operations and has a proven track record of building customer-centric businesses around the world. He was instrumental in establishing R.R. Donnelley Financial's international platform and has been responsible for more than 40 locations worldwide. Masterton will be responsible for operations, sales, marketing and administrative functions for Europe. Terry Trayvick, president of R.R. Donnelley Financial's capital markets business, will also assume the role of president of R.R. Donnelley Financial. Trayvick joined R.R. Donnelley in 1997. He served as senior vice president of finance for its commercial print group and led the successful consolidation and transformation strategies for R.R. Donnelley Print Solutions to support market-driven growth and optimization. Mauck, Masterton and Trayvick will report to Joe Lawler, executive vice president for R.R. Donnelley, headquartered in Chicago. "These leadership moves are part of an ongoing effort to place strong leaders in opportunities where their experience, skills and insight benefit our growth objectives," Lawler said.
