HUDSON, N.H., Jan. 15 -- Presstek, Inc., a leading provider of direct digital imaging technology, today announced that as part of its continuing commitment to improve its market and customer focus it has implemented several changes in its on-press business unit and appointed William T. Davison to the newly created position of Vice President Strategic Marketing and Customer Services. Presstek's President and Chief Executive Officer Edward J. Marino said, "In 2002, we began to transform our company into a market-focused business. The next important step in this process is to strengthen our customer focus through more intensive marketing and customer support efforts. Accordingly, we have made several important changes which we believe will continue to energize the company and improve our capacity to anticipate and respond to our customers." "First, I am very pleased to welcome Bill as the new vice president of strategic marketing and customer services," said Marino. "We have created this executive level position to emphasize the importance of the customer in our day-to-day operations and to better align the organizational infrastructure with the customer. Bill brings with him over 25 years of experience in the print and publishing industries on all levels - from print practitioner to strategic marketing. We believe his unique perspective will be advantageous as he leads our corporate brand marketing, business development and customer service efforts." "Second," said Marino, "we have appointed Peter Bouchard, formerly general manager, strategic alliances, to the position of general manager, on-press. We believe Peter's worldwide sales background and extensive experience with our DI partners will be an important addition to our DI business unit. In addition, Stan Najmr, formerly general manager, on-press, has been appointed to the position of marketing director, on-press business. This will allow Stan to focus 100% of his efforts to the marketing of our DI products worldwide." Prior to joining Presstek, Davison was founder and president of Point Balance, Inc., a business consulting and process design firm in Massachusetts. Before founding Point Balance, Davison was vice president, customer services at Scitex America Corp., where he was responsible for the field service and remote support operations in North America, as well as the Advanced Technology organization, which included alpha and beta testing of new products and logistics. Prior to Scitex America, Davison was director, strategic technologies, at Kodak's Advanced Technology and director, strategic planning and business development at Kodak Electronic Printing Systems. Previous positions include vice president, technical operations at Nimrod Press (now WorldColor) and independent technology consultant and consultant/trainer at the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Haverford College and pursued post-graduate courses in computer science, mathematics, artificial intelligence and system dynamics.
