Press release from the issuing company

Minnetonka, MN – May 25, 2007 -- MacDermid ColorSpan, Inc., the world’s leading supplier of UV-curable inkjet printers! for the display graphics market, today announced the immediate availability of four new premium, 54-inch wide, roll-fed print media for use with its line of UV-curable wide-format inkjet printers. UV Photobase is a true photographic-grade paper with a double sided extruded polyethylene outer layer. The printing side is resin coated for cockle-free printing with high ink coverage. UV White Film is a durable white opaque polyester (PET) film for printing high ink coverage display prints requiring more durability than paper. UV Backlit Film is a durable translucent polyester (PET) film for indoor or outdoor backlit display applications. Its heavier gauge makes it easier to handle for insertion directly into light box. UV Canvas is a natural feel, white co! tton-pol yester blend canvas base with three primer coatings and a matte finish. This is a stretchable canvas designed for high quality digital art reproductions. All four feature high image quality and a very low cost of production. They are water-, light- and scratch-resistant and can be used for indoor or short-term outdoor displays. Designed and manufactured by MacDermid ColorSpan's Kilborn media operations in Cedar Rapids, IA, the new media have been optimized for superior quality and durability using ColorSpan's SolaChrome UV pigmented inks, however, they are universally compatible with other UV-curable wide-format printers. “We are very pleased with the feedback and comments received from our beta tests of the new media,” stated Bruce Butler, director of marketing. “This line of UV media with its ability to print ready-to-use grap! hics at extremely low costs will change the way print providers produce their finished graphics. When compared to the costs to produce posters, backlits, display graphics or canvas art, printing with UV ink on UV media is less than half the cost of doing the same on an HP-5500. Plus, there is no dry time, no labor needed to laminate and the prints are water and fade resistant.” Pricing and Availability The UV line of media is available now from MacDermid ColorSpan and their worldwide network of value-added distributors and resellers. ICC color profiles for the ColorSpan 5400uv series of printers are available for ColorSpan’s Kodi ak Software RIP and Onyx Graphics’ line of RIP software.
