X-Rite Announces Out-Of-The-Box ISO Compliant Spectrophotometer

Press release from the issuing company

RAND RAPIDS, Mich. – X-Rite, Incorporated, the world leader in color management, measurement and communication technologies, today announced that its industry-leading spectrophotometer, SpectroEye, is now shipping pre-loaded with the widely-supported ISO 12647-2 process control standard database.  This new feature of SpectroEye offers an out-of-the-box pressroom quality control tool to help printers achieve ISO compliance on their jobs, and allows them to start working immediately with the knowledge and confidence that all their color measurements will be made according to IS0 12647-2 standards.

The SpectroEye is the industry’s only handheld spectrophotometer to offer spectral IS0 12647-2 standard data.  Thanks to this unique feature, printers can continue using the density values they know and trust, while SpectroEye’s pass/fail indicator instantly reports any color standard deviation (reported as dE) in accordance with ISO standards.  To correct color deviations and change the ink thickness appropriately, printers can also take advantage of BestMatch™, a function that gives adjustment recommendations on how to change the ink density to achieve an accurate match to the reference color, all while maintaining measurements and reportability required for ISO compliance.

In addition to the newly-added ISO standards, SpectroEye’s features include extendable measuring heads for exact positioning and stability, an integrated white reference tile for automatic calibration, high-resolution graphic displays for easy viewing, and ring illumination for successful measurements independent of positioning orientation. SpectroEye can be seamlessly integrated with X-Rite hardware and software, including IntelliTrax, NetProfiler2, ColorQuality, InkFormulation, KeyWizard and CxF Loader.
