Lake Image Systems Announces Full Text Database Matching

Press release from the issuing company

Henrietta, NY -- Lake Image Systems, the worldwide leader in vision control and verification systems, has announced that their popular camera  matching verification software now provides full text database comparison, eliminating the need for any marks or identifiers and enabling documents with different values to be matched by utilizing a database.

The new software, part of the Lake Image Systems IntegraVision IQ suite, combines the best camera read rates in the industry with database matching.  This combination enables Lake Image Systems customers to seamlessly run complex matching applications at maximum inserter or card attacher speeds.  By reading full text (such as names) while simultaneously ensuring the correct fulfillment of non-identical text values, labor and productivity delays associated with these applications can be eliminated.  More importantly, printers and mailers employing the Lake Image Systems IntegraVision IQ can offer their clients the ability to match complex attributes without resorting to bar codes or other text or symbols unrelated to the message.

Lake Image Systems IntegraVision IQ permits:

- Database Matching—Match "ABC" to "123" by comparing multiple camera reads on a piece of equipment (such as inserter or card attacher) to a database, thus ensuring that non-matching items are fulfilled correctly.

- File Lookup—Read a name or text block (e.g., "John Smith"), then look up a corresponding value in a database, and send this unique identifier to an inkjet printer for in-line “read and print” envelope addressing without any codes or symbolic identifiers on the documents.

- IQ Text Matching—Read a name or text block (e.g., "Dear Frank") from a letter and match to "Frank Jones" on a personalized insert.

- Traditional Camera-to-Camera Matching—IMB codes, sequence numbers, data matrix codes and linear bar codes can be readily matched.

According to Pat Hoskins, Lake Image Systems Vice President, “As the direct mail and similar markets move away from mass marketed pieces to highly personalized content, Lake Image Systems clients must process these unique documents without impacting production performance.   IntegraVision IQ provides this ability, together with the IMB verification, missing and duplicate piece detection, productivity reporting, and other features that have made our software the industry standard among mailers and variable data printers.”
