Thursday, August 29, 2002

Press release from the issuing company

ALEXANDRIA, VA (August 28, 2002) – The Printing Industries of America, Inc. (PIA) and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF) announce The Presidents Conference 2003 will be held at The Ritz Carlton, Key Biscayne, Florida on March 5-9, 2003. What are the practices of high-performance printing companies? What do they do that makes them successful? The answers to these questions can be found at the 2003 Presidents Conference. Sound, tested practices and authentic, documented examples from the industry—not just theories or concepts—form the basis and the focus of each presentation. "The three-day conference is turbo-charged for maximum impact in a short time. Attendees will hear how high-performance companies drive up profits—in both fair weather and foul. Time and time again, these companies outpace the competition and emerge as winners. They may struggle, but good, solid practices prevail. All companies need a tune-up to achieve this kind of peak performance," said Michael Keene, Conference Chair and President of the John Roberts Company in Minneapolis, MN. The conference will feature topic experts, industry notables, and practitioners speaking on various topics that are important to the graphic communications industry. Here are the highlights of several general sessions: The High Performers’ Mindset, Michael Janke Janke is a best selling author and performance expert; he served on the Presidents Anti Terrorist Task Force and is a highly decorated Navy SEAL. The Great Debate: Crises and Challenges in the Printing Industry The Great Debate will be led by Frank Romano (RIT) and the panelists will include Bill Gibson (Rider Dickerson, Inc.), Ron Kendig (Xerox), Ray Prince (GATF) and Paul Reilly (Mail Well). Winning on Value vs. Losing on Price … What High Performers Do Best, Landy Chase Chase is a well-known sales trainer with experience in numerous industries including printing. In addition to the topic experts, this program is exceptional due to the heavy participation of industry practitioners. Participants will receive the benefit of real world issues, challenges and solutions from: Wayne Angstrom (St. Ives); Ray Lawton and Laura Lawton (Lawton Printing and File-Ez Folder Inc.); Paul Reilly (Mail Well); Suzie Scholin (Scholin Printing); and Bill Gibson (Rider Dickerson, Inc.)
