PARSIPPANY, N.J.--Dec. 10, 2001-- Bowne Global Solutions, a division of Bowne & Co, Inc. announced that Microsoft has renewed its master agreement with Bowne Global Solutions, continuing a long standing relationship highlighted by Bowne Global's globalization and testing of various Microsoft Consumer products. With the recent strategic acquisition of Mendez S.A., also a long-time software localization vendor to Microsoft, Bowne Global Solutions has been able to compliment and improve its portfolio of globalization solutions, thereby strengthening its close bonds with Microsoft. By adding Mendez' machine translation technology, technical writing and translation services to its already-rich portfolio of globalization solutions, Bowne Global Solutions offers the most complete range of technology-enabled globalization services throughout its production facilities that serve over 64 language markets. "A major part of our reasoning behind the Mendez acquisition was to provide key Global 1000 customers such as Microsoft with enhanced value added end-to-end solutions in both globalization technology and outsourced services,'' said Carl Glaeser, chief executive officer of Bowne Global Solutions. "While we are very encouraged by Microsoft's renewed confidence in our services, we are far from complacent. We are dedicated to improving the range and quality of our services, and giving customers the added-value expertise expected of the market leader.'' "We had no hesitation in renewing our contract with Bowne Global because their performance on innumerable projects over the years has always been exemplary,'' said Anil Singh-Molares, Senior Director Vendor Relations. "Bowne Global has consistently met our expectations, teaming with us to get Microsoft products to market around the globe, on time and on budget. We look forward to even better service from Bowne Global's expanded capabilities.''
