MAASTRICHT, Netherlands, December 6, 2001 – Indigo, a leader in digital color printing systems, has appointed graphic arts distributor Currie & Company to sell its complete range of Digital Offset Color presses in Australia. Established in 1949, Currie & Company has flourished to become a strong and well respected distributor for the commercial printing market. Focused on its commitment to delivering quality technical and aftersales service to the highest possible standard, the company is ideally placed to promote and support Indigo’s expanding range of digital presses. Andy Middleton, Indigo’s General Manager of Worldwide Distributor Channels commented, "The appointment of Currie & Company will provide Indigo with a large sales and support structure across the whole of Australia and New Zealand. The reputation they have gained over the years makes the company one of the leading distributors in its field and a fitting choice for Indigo’s leading edge technology." Currie & Company will be selling Indigo’s complete range of digital presses, including the newly launched Platinum with Image Tracking Technology, that delivers high-resolution images and highly uniform tints and solids at a very competitive price. Indigo’s flagship UltraStream 2000 is another attractive offering for the high volume markets in Australia and New Zealand, combining offset quality with extremely high throughput rates. David Currie, Managing Director of Currie & Company stated, "We represent a number of leading graphic arts players and are delighted that Indigo has joined our portfolio. The majority of commercial printers in Australia and New Zealand are now looking to install digital presses and we strongly believe that this is the future." Commenting on the significance of the Australian market to Indigo, Michael Mogridge, Indigo Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand, said, "The appointment of a new distributor in Australia confirms Indigo’s objective of becoming the leading supplier of digital presses in the region. This year has been our strongest yet and it is our aim to drive into this market through a true offset press supplier."
