New GAIN Job Bank to Serve Graphic Arts Industry

Press release from the issuing company

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA (October 10, 2001) - To assist members in filling job openings, the Printing Industries of America (PIA), Incorporated, and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF) are offering the GAIN Job Bank on their portal to the graphic arts industry, www.gain.net. PIA and GATF members pay $95 for a 30-day posting. Nonmembers may post for the same amount of time for $245. The GAIN Job Bank is intended to work in conjunction with similar job banks and employment functions appearing on PIA/GATF affiliated organizations. The GAIN Job Bank is designed to canvass the gamut of careers in the graphic arts industry, including customer service representatives, information technology managers, prepress positions and sales and marketing executives. Jobs are sorted by discipline, PIA/GATF affiliates, state and Canadian provinces and dates posted. In particular, the GAIN Job Bank hopes to solicit resumes from students and recent graduates, workers wanting to make a career change, and those who have been laid off from another industry. "As we enter a tough economic cycle, keeping as many Americans as possible working is vital to both the graphic arts industry and the country," said Theresa Kramer-Burgess, director of Internet Communications at PIA. "Printing has always been a major employer in this country and our goal is too maintain full employment in the industry." According the U.S. Census Bureau, printing is the sixth largest manufacturing industry in the country. There is no charge for job seekers to user the GAIN Job Bank. Job seekers may respond to postings online by submitting their resume to the GAIN Job Bank. At this time there is no searchable resume bank. Those currently employed in the industry are cautioned about using the GAIN Job Bank. While resumes will not be posted publicly, it is possible that employers will view resumes. If you are currently employed, we ask that you use the service only with your employer's permission.
