PIA Digital Printing Council Sets Up Marketing Seminar

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA – The Digital Printing Council (DPC) of the Printing Industries of America (PIA), Incorporated, and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF) holds the one-day seminar Digital Impact: Advanced Results in Production for a Digital Age, Wednesday, October 24, at the Radisson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. The seminar focuses on utilizing printed material in marketing campaigns amid the rapid advancements in technology so that they remain effective and highly valued communications vehicles. Leading the seminar is Frank Romano, chair of the Rochester (New York) Institute of Technology School of Printing, where he also teaches digital publishing and printing at the school’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences. Areas addressed in Digital Impact: Advanced Results in Production for a Digital Age include the following: * which types of digital printing technologies are right for each type of marketing objective and program—from prospecting to customer retention; * how to get better results from production in a digital world; * how to design using new digital printing methods; * how to create hybrid printing that mixes ink and toner, or ink and inkjet; * how to deal with databases; and, * what the future holds—transmedia solutions such as print-to-Internet, and how to integrate digital printing with other elements of the media mix for greater impact in multi-channel marketing. The DPC presents Digital Impact: Advanced Results in Production for a Digital Age in cooperation with the Direct Marketing Association of Washington (DMAW). Attendees can register online on the DMAW Web site. Seminar costs are $279 for DPC and DMAW members, and $329 for nonmembers.
