Canon U.S.A. Announces Strategic Partnership With T/R Systems

CHICAGO-Sept. 6, 2001--PRINT '01 Companies To Integrate Canon imageRUNNER and CLC Production Copier/Printers With T/R Systems Software Solutions Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in networked imaging systems, announced today that its parent company Canon Inc. has entered into a development agreement with T/R Systems, whereby T/R Systems will develop connectivity between the MicroPress document production server and production-level Canon imageRUNNER and Color Laser Copier (CLC) copier/printer devices. Following the final development of the connectivity solutions, Canon U.S.A. and T/R Systems are expected to announce marketing and channel distribution plans for the products at a later date in the fourth quarter of 2001. "Canon U.S.A. is very pleased and excited to announce that our parent company Canon Inc. has entered into a development agreement with T/R Systems,'' said Tod Pike, senior vice president of Marketing, Canon U.S.A. Imaging Systems Group. "This new alliance will give Canon the opportunity to offer our customers an even greater range of production options that will fully leverage the strengths of T/R Systems MicroPress with our award-winning imageRUNNER and CLC devices.'' Among the Canon devices that will initially be offered with connectivity to the MicroPress document production server include the imageRUNNER 105, 8500, 600, 550, and 60 models, and the CLC 5000.
