SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug 22, 2001 Gretag, Professional Imaging Division is pleased to announce that Fujifilm, Graphic Systems Division, has agreed to be the exclusive U.S. distributor for the company's PlateJet(R) Emerald 8-up Computer-to-Plate (CTP) Systems. Fujifilm will position the PlateJet Emerald as its entry-level system, and offer a complete workflow solution incorporating either visible light or thermal PlateJet Emerald models. The PlateJet Emerald with T-Wave(TM) is an entry-level thermal CTP device that delivers the benefits of thermal CTP to small and medium-size printers. The internal drum design provides high quality, high resolution 830nm thermal imaging at an affordable price. The PlateJet family is available in a variety of configurations. At 2400 dpi, the PlateJet Emerald images 7 plates an hour. As with all Gretag internal drum CTP systems, it incorporates a reliable micropositioning system that has no mechanical bearing surfaces. Due to the nature of the system, there is also less chance of visible artifacts. The PlateJet Emerald with T-Wave offers the following standard resolutions, 1828, 2400, 2438, 2540 and 3657 dpi so printers can choose to image plates at the resolution that suits each job. Custom resolutions are available upon special request. The visible light PlateJet Emerald, modeled after the Company's successful PlateJet8 product, offers greater productivity, multiple resolutions and a new micropositioning system that is designed to be maintenance-free; with no mechanical bearing surfaces, it sets a new standard of reliability. The micropositioning system also reduces visible artifacts caused by vibrations. The PlateJet Emerald offers the following standard resolutions, 1828, 2400, 2438, 2540 and 3657 dpi so printers can choose to image plates or film at the resolution that suits each job.
