Lexar Media adds WYNIT as National Distributor for its Digital Imaging Products

FREMONT, Calif., August 2, 2001 -- Lexar Media, Inc. (NSDQ: LEXR), a leading designer, developer and marketer of high-performance digital film and connectivity products for the digital photography market, today announced that WYNIT, Inc., a distributor of digital imaging and computer peripheral products, has been selected to further propel Lexar Media's aggressive expansion into photo specialty, consumer electronics and office superstores. WYNIT will represent Lexar Media's complete line of products throughout the United States and Canada, anticipating product in the channel by August 2001. They will also carry the full complement of Lexar Media's Universal USB, CompactFlash, SmartMedia and Memory Stick readers. The new Lexar Media USB CompactFlash Reader is compatible with all brands of Type I and Type II CompactFlash and offers portability and connection to PC or Macintosh through the USB port on the computer. The reader is mass storage compliant, meaning that it is truly plug-and-play since no drivers are required to use it with modern operating systems. It is compatible with Windows 98, Windows 2000,Windows ME, Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6 and greater. This reader joins the current lineup of SmartMedia™ and Memory Stick™ readers in providing portable USB connectivity for all major digital film formats.
