Merrill Corporation Names Dean Niehus Vice President-Controller

ST. PAUL, MN — July 16, 2001 — Merrill Corporation (www.merrillcorp.com), a global diversified communications and document services provider, today announced that Dean Niehus will join the company as vice president-controller effective Aug. 13. "With more than 22 years of experience, Dean will be instrumental in continuing to advance Merrill's aggressive business initiatives," said Robert Nazarian, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Merrill Corporation. "We continue to attract quality individuals like Dean to key positions at Merrill." Niehus will be responsible for leading financial and management accounting activities including reporting, budgeting, performance measurement, financial systems, corporate shared accounting services, and financial planning and analysis. Before joining Merrill Corporation, Niehus served as corporate controller and principal accounting officer for Tennant Company. Prior experience includes financial leadership positions with Silicon Graphics, Cray Research, and Deloitte & Touche. Niehus holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from Mankato State University, where he graduated magna cum laude, a master's of business administration from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and is a certified management accountant and certified public accountant.
